Well Test – Water Flow Rate

Well Test – Water Flow Rate

The well test consists of a 30 minute water flow rate test that measures the flow rate of the well system.

An initial GPM (Gallons Per Minute) reading is taken then the water is let to run for 30 minutes before a second GPM reading. During the test period the well cylinder, pressure switch and gauge are all checked and monitored several times to ensure correct and suitable operation.

Following the test a water sample is then taken and submitted to a lab for analysis of bacteria and coli. Nitrates can also be tested upon request.

The lab results are usually received back within 24-48hrs and a written report is then issued along with the test results.

The CDC recommends testing your well water every year. Please see this link for further information: https://www.cdc.gov/drinking-water/safety/guidelines-for-testing-well-water.html
